Absolutely incredible. The Vineyardist is one of my favorite Napa producers. This 2017 Calarcadia is drinking excellent now. Dark ruby. High alcohol barely noticeable. Red and black fruit. Perfectly ripe and perfectly balanced with chalky tannins. Graphite, pencil shavings, fantastic mouthfeel and oh what a long finish. Incredible effort for a tough 2017.

Jun 21st, 20242017 Calarcadia Vineyard. Hour decant, even more would be best. But wow, the nose on this screams black and blueberry pie. very dark. Blue fruit, blackberry, cassis dominate up front. Graphite, black licorice come through with a lovely silky mouthfeel. Tannins superfine and silky, perfectly balanced. Incredible wine that’s drinking great now with a short decant.
