Very fine and elegant, this was served next to a powerhouse Corton-charlamagne so it lost some verve in comparison. I found it lacked some focus and tension, but that was likely from youth and some distraction as previously mentioned. However, it did offer an elegant and purely vivid take on Chardonnay I found very appealing, especially with the course of tile fish on my plate at that moment!

13% booze, about $70, sample. Nose is a little restrained, palate is creamy and nutty. Honeysuckle, buttercream, almond, hazelnut, orange peel. Midweight, bright acidity, gripping finish. Surprisingly mature for such a young wine. Price is a concern, though.

Awesome balance rich and luscious with a tart mineral finish, great with all the French fare on the table from oysters to escargot, and in a half bottle format perfect for lunch!
