Starting to think that Santa Cruz Chardonnay needs just a few years and very careful oak handling. 2012 vintage more balanced than 2011. Ripe honeydew, poached apple and little pecan caramel but still fairly light and with decent acidity. Great value!

An unexpected score from an office gift basket. Has a lot of the excessive characteristics of California chardonnays but with enough minerality to make it compelling. A bit much without food or the next day.

Crisp, delicious. Perhaps lacks a bit of flavor.

Pretty sweet but not overwhelming. A good after dinner wine.

Good expression of Chardonnay from the mountains, you can tell it's from the higher region from its lightness and acidity.
