See previous notes - sadly my last bottle of the 2013. A wonderful Pinot Noir. Along with the red fruits and lovely perfume a distinctly earthy note. The medium bodied palate is polished, fine and long. Owned and made by Shaw + Smith who are based in the Adelaide Hills and transport the grapes from this exceptional terroir in the Coal River Tasmania in refrigerated containers to be vinified in the Adelaide Hills. Quite a daunting exercise but on the evidence of this wine - an absolute triumph.

Pale Ruby bright red. Red cherry fruit, rose petals, violets and cinnamon with a touch of whole bunch influence. A lovely, fluid, medium bodied textured palate showing red cherry, strawberry and a touch of raspberry. A very delicious and polished Pinot Noir with high scores from all the Pros who tasted it. HH rated this #1 of 110 Pinot Noirs from Tasmania from the 2013 vintage. Obviously an exceptional terroir. Luckily I have one left.

Pale to mid crimson in colour. Red fruit aromas - dirty cherry with just the right amount of whole bunch adding the complexity. On the palate just medium weight but with structure and balance. A serious Pinot from the excellent Coal River of Tasmania. My first of 3 from the 2013 vintage. I should leave the next one for at least 2 years if I can keep my hands off it. Footnote: Our Delectable friend, Scott Rowe, who works for the owners has pretty much nailed this wine. Just read several of his previous notes. “Get some” he says! I totally agree.

Another check in with the early vintage.
Will also monitor closely track progress.
A glorious example of the early days in the vineyard finding our feet.
2017 shows how far we’ve come and still got a ways to go 💪🏼

Looking bright and fruitful.
Colour is strong, flavour is stronger.
A long life ahead.

Dusty stalky stemmy notes which with aeration gave more Red berry perfume but still showing whole bunch. On the palate, Restrained - more Burgundian than new world. The fruit is dialled back in favour of vegetal savouriness and some red berry fruit. A class act. Tasted again 77 weeks later with consistent notes. A nice sweetness to the palate amongst the stalky gingery characters. On 20th November 2018.

At a recent tasting at Berry Bros London of MWs this wine received a lot of praise. Initial toffee oak notes with a hint of cinnamon. A spotlessly clean palate reflecting the purity of Tasmanian wines. Light to medium weight palate yet good concentration. A delicious wine to be admired. 18. #aussiewine

Being biased paid off on this one, 3rd wine of the 2nd flight and we have a winner. White pepper on the nose, very clean and age worthy. Get some of this!!

Pale Crimson. Earthy aromas and a genuine Pinot feel. Sticky legs on the glass and a deep palate of red fruits, touch of leather and spice. As good an Australian Pinot that I have tried. Wonderful.
