As I begin my exploration into new age Italian wines it seemed appropriate to begin with a super tuscan. The caberbet sauvignon keeps the wine familiar while the sangiovese provides the much needed insight into the rustic, astringent wines I hope to taste in the future. The wine is complex enough to satisfy my over analytical, contemplative nature. However, the seamless transition between the two varietals here makes for a wine that is easy to drink and relax.

I like it, a little acidic towards the end, leather at the start. Nice body.

Has a musty old castle nose but i like it. Very peppery and I like it but the sweetness is too much. I really want to to like as the flavours are vibrant but can't get past the sweetness.

Dark fruits, medium to full bodied, soft tannins. Great deal for the price.
