I'm a fan of Trefethen wines. Their Cabernet is a bottle that I've consumed over many vintages. If I'm being honest, I prefer their traditional Cab over this Reserve Estate Grown release. I haven't experience a material difference in quality or fruit for the extra $. That being said, 2009 has a pleasant nose that is complemented by a forward fruit bouquet. I'm not as enthusiastic about the finish. The complexity is less structured with a slightly tart end. I expected more. Cheers!!

Aug 9th, 2015Surprising balance. Although high alcohol, not too much oak. Recognizable acid structure behind supple mountain fruit and berries. Lingering finish
