Sonoma County Chardonnay
An Oaky chardonnay from Sonoma County.
Showing oak, vanilla, spices, earth, vegetables, herbs and bitter almonds on the finish.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and creamy.
Tangy bitter finish with almonds.
This 6 year old Chardonnay is unbalanced, and too oaky for me at this point.
13.7% alcohol by volume.
85 points.
$30.

Nice, solid and crisp citrus and muted butter notes along with some green apple that dances about the pallet - a slight hint of earthiness as this comes together in a wonderful well done Chard!

It has loads of apple tart flavor with brown spices, loads of vanilla, and hints of sweet pineapple and a touch of coconut. Nothing sticks our too much. I'll say he one upped his brother, Charley, at the Caymus Winery with his Mersolei wines he had done, or even Conundrum White. Keep up your work, Joey..

Mar 25th, 2020Okay toasty chard, with a bit of smoke. I felt like the nice fruit flavors of chardonnay were overtaken by the oak on this one. Someone else mentioned this overtaking Mer Soliel and I would have to say the opposite. There in lies the beauty of wine, everyone's tastes are different.
