One of my favorite cabs and drinking at close to perfection. Old world soul that is at peak right now.

Beautifully aged. Paired so perfectly with Chef Norman Van Aken’s Pork Havana at his Orlando Ritz Carlton location. Medium toast from the oak, vanilla, balanced, velvety mouth feel. Dried fruits, blackberry, cherry, tobacco, licorice. Soft around the edges. Decanted for two hours. Could cellar for a few more years.

Gorgeous aromas of cedar, aged cigars, dried blackberries, cassis and an herbaceous twist, all luckily framed by licorice and bitter chocolate from well-aged French oak. Medium-bodied, sleek, still tannic and constantly evolving, this masterpiece is best consumed from 2016-2036.

Tannins still kickin! All that said, this is immensely elegant too. Lots of refined flavored and textures that keep changing, evolving. Caught this bottle at the right time!

This 1999 was huge, needed decanting. Big and brawny. Very muscular in style, it needed a good hour to really express itself. First time for me with the 99 vintage. Big black fruit dominate here. A solid 94 here! Chophouse Holiday dinner !
