Vigna Scarrone Barbera d'Alba

A medium to full body Barbera, showing rich dark color, Violets and plums on the nose and a complex palate.
Seems this is the perfect time to open, tanins are powefull but smooth, one can note the fruits but also layers of forest floor, earth and spices. Very enjoyable.

Blackberry aromas. Red fruits with classic high acid/low tannin combo. Still wasn’t feeling it. With Monday night baked ziti.

Great memories of an old traditional wine.
Still one of our favorite Barberas.

Fell a little flat. Blackberry with herbs (wife said lavender). More blackberry. Thought the acidity and tannins were muddled. Maybe needs more time. Doesn’t help that Dominos hammered the crust on the pizza.

Medium body a little peppery up front a little funk.

Red fruit and a little purple without being inky. Really hides the 15% abv well
