Found this ‘10, past it’s prime, drink now!

Cherrywood, licorice, Brett, and violets. Subtle raspberry preserve and rhubarb. Tobacco and menthol. Dried tannin, still room age but as fruit is fading. Dried cherry meets cherry lozenge. Chalky tannins on the palate. Cranberry fruit too. Heat spikes a bit. Menthol and tobacco carry through to the finish.

Roasted plum in the nostrils give way to chestnuts, tarragon, seeded blackberry preserves, all wrapped up in a new oak blanket, that is just now starting to temper. Glad I have one more one hand..

This wine needs some time to open up. I am beginning to believe Grenache is not one of my preferred grapes.

Current, pepper and ash. I think I'd prefer to have this wine with a cheese plate rather than the pork loin I paired it with.

Needs to open and then it is terrific. A rich Rhone wine. Remember. 2010 Vacqueyras!
