Slightly spicy tinged dried red fruit on the palate , red plum , roasted red pepper , cherry and cranberry. Balanced acidity and medium length , rounded tannin . Just starting to dry out on the finish so drink now and over the next couple of years . This shows very well for a 40 year old wine , though perhaps just lacking the intensity and length of the 1986
