Vincent Girardin
Les Vieilles Vignes Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay
Puligny-Montrachet, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Had another bottle, aged very well. Vincent Girardin continues the winemaking tradition of his family before him, and he has greatly expanded the number of appellations in his domaine either through inheritance, purchasing the land, or a system of leasing called "fermage". Straw with aromas of stone and tropical fruits. The palate shows citrus, apple and pear with mineral notes. This medium-body wine has good balance with integrated acidity and finishes smooth, a touch creamy on the end. Very Nice!

So much lees upon opening, a quite simple expression of the appellation but I think it needs a little more time though, there's potential there...

Always a great value for this Puligny that hits you upfront with lemon lime citrus, crushed rock & mineral followed by green apple, pear, acacia flower along with refreshing acidity.

Nov 29th, 2017If looking for an un-oaked Chardonnay look for this wine. This has subtle aroma, medium viscosity, smooth mouth feel, clean, long finish and soft acid.
