Top Notes For
"Odedi"

Dark inky in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, figs, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, licorice, oak, cloves, spices, medicine, metals and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, black currants, blackberries, oak, vanilla, earth, licorice, spices, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Medium plus in finish with aggressive tannins and tangy raspberries.

This California Petite Sirah is still young and austere. Showing a nice grippy mouthfeel and good complexity. Good right out of the bottle and gets tannic as it opens up.

Needs a couple of years in the bottle to mature and balance itself out.

I had the 2014 vintage a few months ago and it was drinking better. Time will heal it...

I paired it with hard cheeses and crackers.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

86 points.

$15.

I like it! Haven’t had a proper petite sirah in a while, and this ticks the box. Maybe not orgasmic, but good, solid representative in my book.

Big blackberry pie aromas with very faint peppery notes. Big tannins as well, flavors of almost exclusively black fruit without complexity
