Saline, citrus, stone. Very light lemon yellow color… light to med in weight…lean, powerful, laser-sharp, and focused… this wine needs time ( perhaps quite a bit) to settle. A touch of match strike reduction…I like the wine, but….on this evening tended to overpower the roast halibut and mashed celeriac.

Dec 18th, 2021I greatly enjoyed this chardonnay that was exceptionally balanced — just oaky enough, not too oaky, for instance. But I actually preferred the Walter Scott I had drunk before, by a slight margin. It had a toastier, tobacco flavor profile whereas this one was more traditional.
