Wellanschitz
Altes Weingebirge Blaufränkisch
Pretty similar to my last note: Screw cap. We decanted the wine for thirty minutes before we poured the first glass and the wine started to drink best after about one hour in the decanter. It offered dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, herbs, liquorice, coffee and cocoa on the nose. On the palate the wine showed dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, herbs, liquorice, coffee, cocoa and a mild spiciness, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-level fine, well-integrated tannin, a good, slightly creamy mouthfeel and very good length. The medium-bodied wine was very balanced and Burgundian in style, and drank very well. It paired well with food. We liked it. Will buy again. 89
