Couldn’t drink it. Great fruit, great wine maker- across the board, I can’t appreciate the wines. (I’m a chard slut)- this was prematurely oxidized. Raw wood and nuts.

Bottle variation? But this is terrible. Sorry. 2018 was a great vintage. San Giacomo are the oldest and largest growers in Sonoma. Their Robert’s Road chard fruit is fantastic by all other producers. The winemaker here is Melka- a near cult consulting winemaker- and this… is bad. Pre-oxidized. Almond skin. Browned pineapple. Thinking about it- it reminds me of another famous chard that I think is poor…Grigich. Burnt caramel. Drink with aged Gouda.
