My first Spätburgunder. So I'm comparing to the Pinot-I-Know.
On the wonderful nose I get more raspberry than cherry. Slightly floral, but a wild floral and a touch of leather. Really great, unique.
Powerful flavor, not what I expected! The acid hits right away but immediately after you get the raspberry on your tongue that your nose was promising. Rich deep texture, again not what I was expecting from a cold weather pinot noir. Thick, earthy texture, clearly unfiltered. Enjoying the long finish where you can appreciate their use of oak- it really melds so well with the fruit- again think of eating the first ripe raspberries of early summer.
