Woodbridge Wines (by Robert Mondavi)
California Cabernet Sauvignon
Smoky minerality, great persistence and extraordinary dry extract. Beguiling.

1 person found it helpfulJan 29th, 2017Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Light nose of blackberries, metals, wood, licorice, spices, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry to off dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, toasted oak, spices, peppercorn and chocolates.
Short finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
This is a simple Cabernet for everyday consumption. Nicely balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Nothing special here, but a good party wine. For a bulk wine, it's not bad at all.
I paired it with hard cheeses and sweedish meatballs.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

An excellent bang for the buck! Personally, I find Californian CSs to be the best in the world. This is a low end example and it’s still great! Blackberry and dark cherry with hints of toast and spice. Not very long aftertaste though. But definitely a great every-day wine.
