Wynns Coonawarra Estate
Black Label Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Wow! First time drinking it and blown away. Complex right out of the bottle, and evolves in the first ten minutes!

Dec 26th, 2016Fave of the night--silky and elegant! Ripe and tart red fruits dance with a potpourri of dried red/purple flowers, savory herbs, a touch of green tobacco and that telltale menthol note. The softness of the palate is remarkable, with pleasant mouth coating fruit, ripe but not overly so, with smooth milk chocolate midpalate through the finish, which might as well be garnished with a little sprig o' mint.

Jun 24th, 2015Really Enjoyable, great color and legs. The nose was red fruit, cherry, hint of strawberry and some eucalyptus. The wine had balanced tannins and was drinking great, almost to easy. I had the same wine from another vintage, that was a monster. The 2010 vintage seems to have hit it's stride. If your holding I would drink now. Enjoy Coonawarra is creeping on a come up!

May 5th, 2015Turbid, blue black core heavily concentrated to a thin violet rim. Glass coating violet viscosity. Intensely fruit forward ripeness on the nose but not baked. Warm raspberry, black currant, Black licorice, eucalyptus, milk chocolate, and a hint of green bell pepper. A dry wine with medium plus body and smooth texture, low acid but not flabby, high alcohol 13.5% throws minimal prickle on the tongue and a touch of heat in the throat, plush ripe tannins linger on a long malty finish. Flavors on the concentrated, complex palate mimic those on the nose with the addition of black coffee.
