Wynns Coonawarra Estate
Black Label Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Inky deep Ruby with a lovely bouquet of violet, cassis, black cherry and licorice and a faint minty note in the background. Juicy black fruit - it's very much a fruit bomb and sacrifices some complexity in the process.

1 person found it helpfulJan 17th, 2016Medium ruby red with deep core. A little dirty on the nose with some cheese and herbs. Finally opened up on day two with baking spices, vanilla, red cherries and light dark cocoa. Moderate tannins (6/10) and quite a bit of acidity, this needs some time to integrate. Medium bodied with some red cherries, and light greenery, a little woody too. Definitely got thicker on day two with an overload of dark cocoa. Medium plus almost long dry finish. Will be very interesting to revisit this bottling in a few years once it has some time to fully integrate. Drink from 2018 till 2026.

Dec 7th, 2016A very enjoyable Cabernet with juicy black fruits, sweet wood, olive, and cassis notes. Enjoyable and a pleasure drink especially for its price. Love the super soft tannins, velvety in nature, that add this supple and viscous texture to the wine.

Aug 14th, 2016Really good stuff. Deep ruby color, and a ripe black fruit nose with high herbal complexity. Energetic, nimble palate with juicy acidity and classy, mouth-filling tannins. Nicely proportioned, and pleasurable to drink. Bring on the Limestone Coast

Jan 29th, 2016Wynns have long been one of my favourite producers and this wine is exceptional. Made in a style rarely seen now (13.5% declared alcohol) it is dense and structured with great intensity and length. It took a decant and about 12 hours to open up but what a life ahead for this wine!

May 22nd, 2015Back for more rich black fruits, grippy tannin keeps me interested all the way to the end. Drunk next to a Lindemans St George 2012 and this is the clear winner
