Yalumba
The Y Series Shiraz Viognier

A côte rôtie blend from down under, why not?
Inexpensive, unoaked shiraz viognier blend made to be easy going. Blackberry, black pepper and a tiny bit of garrigue on the nose. Blackberry all along a very long acid backbone with some width but very little matter, some grippy tannins in the rear before a rather long, blackberry forward finish with that grippy tannic layer. OK.

This 2019 was not super balanced and had some funky minerality with the taste.

Dark and jammy. Hints of spice at the end. Pretty tasty for the price.
