Dark violet/purple color. Aromas of blueberry, black cherry/currants, tobacco and cocoa. Same fruits on the palate (noticeable blueberry) along with dark plums, black licorice, coffee and spicy oak. Long lasting note of milk chocolate on the extended earthy finish. Medium-plus bodied with reasonably smooth (low volume) tannins for such a young wine. Low on acidity. Opulent, bold and rich. Seemed more like a Malbec than a Cabernet Sauvignon. It will be interesting to see how this wine evolves over the next few years. Presented by Nick Goldschmidt, winemaker. Revisited in February 2026. Still very fruit forward and plush. (Full of blueberry fruit) Lacking a bit of complexity. Would be great at a barbecue.
