2014 Ultime is in town! Already straight up fantastic. Plush berries, funk, earth. Only a few bottles left at the restaurant. Will be hard to keep my hands off of it.

Tasted blind while knowing the list of wines. Guessed the bottle. The first sniff reveals a fistful of peonies and violets (sorry, Lena), which led my thoughts to Fleurie. Add some sour cherries, strawberries, a tiny bit of barnyard, and underbrush. Sophisticated, concentrated, juicy, smooth, round and flavourful wine with good acidity. Wonderful evolution in the glass.

First bottle went back (corked?) Second bottle was tasty af. Spicy, earthy aroma (a hint of funk) with a deep, berry basket flavor. #drinkbeauj

Hold your nose for about 10 minutes, then take a deep breath and take in all kinds of red & blue fruit. The structure of the wine makes you feel like you are sucking fruit from stones. Time will only be a friend. 2014 vintage
