Ripassa Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend

After pressing dried grapes from making Amarone, Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm skins of Amarone for 2nd alcoholic fermentation, increasing the alcoholic content, aromas and color. Blend of 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta. Deep Ruby with aromas of sweet dried berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, currants and sweet cherry with complex spice. Well balanced with acidity and alcohol, full-body with soft tannins on long finish. Nice value.

Excellent red wine at Katie’s house

Blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. Dark purple color. Intense aromas of ripe dark fruit, leather and baking spices. Cooked blackberry and dark plums fill the palate with notes of chocolate, tobacco and vanilla. Noticeable oak on the long finish. A bit light on acidity.

Nice easy and smooth. Not sharp in the back of your throat. Liked. Mom liked

Bouquet of mild mild hint of dusty cherries. Mild dusty middle of dark fruit and plums but mild. Finishes soft and slightly dry.

This is truly baby Amarone. Interesting to pair it with the truffled taglionini and with the meatballs and saffraan sauce.
