Ken Wright wine was the first futures I ever bought back in the early 90's and what got me hooked on Oregon pinots (well before Sideways movie came out). It was my safety wine when on dates. I had no money and it was a stretch but always paid off ;)

Deep ruby color with meniscus starting to go clear, but on balance looks youthful. Nose is heavy on red raspberry with a funk that initially comes across as woolen sweater (lanolin) then morphs quickly to leather. On the palate I notice first gobs of youthful red raspberry, laser focused acid, and pretty tannins that do not seem 11 years old. Sweet vanilla and chocolate notes ride over the fruit. This is a pretty, pretty wine. I am fortunate to be able to taste it.
