A little disappointing. I’m a big fan of this producer but this was maybe in an akward phase. Very tannic, a little disjointed and showing some heat. Not much of the Volnay elegance and Armand sapidity you would expect. — 6 years ago

Wow. Ripe nose with figs and herbs. Lots of dark fruits. You would expect the palate to be much bigger and just jam but this is just so complex and fresh. Bottle was gone fast, no feel of the 15% alcohol at all. Lots of herbs, licorice and floral notes with figs. Somehow it still shows a Burgundian nose. A very refined vintage for Bonneau. I loved it. — 8 years ago

Very good. I always prefer the Rouliers to the Noels. This needs a little bit of time to open and even over a day it stays a little thin on the mid palate. It didn't bother me that much as I love the minerality and touch of spiced pear/apple/lemon. Probably needs to wait a year or two even if I believe this is not a bottle for the long term. — 8 years ago

Very very very tight. Maybe it’s that particular bottle and the weather but I was surprised by it.
The nose is intoxicating, beautiful classic northern Syrah. Violet, smoke, meaty.
Palate is shut down, starts to open up after 5h in decanter. Lots of structure, elegant fruit (mix of red and blue) with tannins getting softer with air.
Needs more time!

Tasted blind. First remind of a very good Sangiovese because of the earthiness, texture and touch of VA. Then with more air became more Syrah like. Thought it was Peyre Rose but much older (said '98).
It's a really good wine, drinking really well with some decant, powerful but elegant at the same time.

Probably my favorite of Anselme lieux dits. Mineral, perfect oxidative notes (sometimes it can be over the top with Selosse), powerful but with great acidity. Elegant fruit. The balance here is perfect.

Started very forward with some heat. Then after 45mn, it all came together. It became very savory. The nose is mineral and sappy. The palate after showing nyc heat was so balanced and fresh. It is still a big wine (15%) but so easy to drink at the same time with air. Meaty, bloody and savory. I love it. Long life ahead. — 8 years ago

Tasted blind. Managed to recognize Rayas style but not the vintage.
Really strange nose with a LOT of horseradish. Never experienced that in any of Reynaud wines. But once past this note, you recognize Rayas typical ripe beautiful cherry notes, always almost Burgundian in texture. Cool wine even though I'm not crazy about this bottle. Tasted a second time 2 weeks later and bottles showed similar note and more oxidation on the palate. Drink now. No sense to keep it any longer.

As many '11s this is really approachable without decanting. To me this is classic CdP. Herbs, leather, dark fruit with no heat, earthy. I always loved Pegau and I love this vintage. Drink over the next 10ys — 8 years ago
