Stunning! Delicious Cab. Enjoying by the fire on an unseasonably warm January evening. Ribeye almost ready, pairing should be perfect. Tannins are very fine and fruit is very nice and dark. Great balance. This was our wedding wine! 2008 vintage — 9 years ago

The wine of the night! Head to head with five other high end 2005 Cabernet Sauvignons! Absolutely beautiful expression of CS. Went with everything we ate and was the clear winner in a blind tasting with Chateau Montelena, Robert Mondavi Oakville (finished second), Regusci Angelo's Vineyard, Beringer Private Reserve, and Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste. Not too often that a group can taste this many wines blind and choose a clear winner! Way to go David Ramey, again!! — 9 years ago

Amazingly underrated wine. Standout in a tasting of several 2005 Cabernets. Best value wine one can purchase! Stood up to wines that were 2-3 times the cost! Delicious but came in second to Ramey Jericho Canyon. — 9 years ago

Lots of big fruit in this second wine from Beaucastel, one of my favorite CdP producers. Mourvèdre, Grenache, cinsault, and Syrah blend. Delicious! Still has a few more years to get better so glad we have more. — 10 years ago

One of my favorite producers but the bottom wine in our 2005 blind high end tasting. Very port like with alcohol dominating the aroma and palate. Great finish with lots of dark berries. — 9 years ago

Delicious Cabernet, but not as complex as other vintages. Could age longer but glad we drank it in our line up of blind 2005 cabs. Great wine, but not a standout in the crowd. — 9 years ago

Big, big Petite Syrah! Loads of dark fruit and tannins. Really opened up after an hour in a decanter. Paired perfectly with brined, cold-smoked then petite Syrah braised beef short ribs ala Michael Chiarello Bottega style over polenta. This was a fun wine find while tasting Odette Cabernet. — 9 years ago
