The Hartford single vineyard selections have always been my favorite red zins, hands downs....I think this one has just the right amount of age on it to soften the edges, but still remain vibrant and rich as a red zinfandel should be...all of the great dark red fruits, spice, and hints of oak are there....so,so good... — 4 years ago
This is so plush and well balanced...the nose is restrained with light tea leaves and pencil lead, followed by silky dark fruits, menthol, and delicate spice that flow seamlessly across the palate...finishes long with tannins that grip just enough to let you know they are there, but not so much to disrupt the satisfying continuum of flavor.... — 4 years ago
Beautifully soft and plush...round dark fruits and just enough tannin to give it some length...delicious. — 5 years ago
Long and lush....cocoa, rhubarb, menthol.... — 5 years ago
Im glad i didnt let this one go any longer...oxidation is clearly taking a strong hold as the wine in the glass looks like a root beer...herbaceous and tarry nose, with the palate an almost perfect blend of fading dark fruits and leathery spice...dusty tannins provide a perfect backdrop. — 4 years ago
Deep, dark purple more like a young syrah than a cab....aromas of menthol, violets, and just a whiff of smoke followed by a velvety mouthful of plums, chocolate, and soft tannins....this really is a beautiful wine, but drinks more like a merlot than a cab sauv.... — 5 years ago
