Boysenberry, black currant and elderberry packaged with friendly tannins at nine years old. Delicious but would need ribeye - perhaps of bison to pair. 2007 on 11.12.16 — 8 years ago
Not as exciting as it should have been for pedigree and price. Drank 2005 on 10.6.16 — 8 years ago
Vanilla and Carmel on the nose over black fruit. Soft tannins enhance a cocoa and tobacco palate with an almost minty note at the end. Good length. Mouth watering. — 6 years ago

Heavy, full bodied nose. Strong black fruit masked by heavy and quite aggressive tannins. Might work with wild boar or bison. Killed fillet. Try again in five years. Drank 2007 on 11.7.26

2015 on 7.25.16. Lovely summer wine . Fruity, with refreshing acidity. Great on a hot afternoon. Or lunch on the beach — 8 years ago
Did not decant! Pleasant nose of leather, black fruit with herbally notes. Palate Initially austere with evident tannins that were still taut. Needs time to open. Advice: decant even the 2006 two or three hours in advance and if course serve a few degrees below ambient. — 7 years ago
2013 on 11.12.16. Red fruit. Nicely balanced with a surprisingly long finish. Delicious with seared blue fin. — 8 years ago
Enticing burnt caramel nose. Rich black fruit with a gentle tannin palate. Good length. Drinking 2001 on Oct 6, 2016 — 8 years ago

Thin, closed and very acidic. This is the second I have tried and this one may be slightly better than the first. Tannins are harsh on the palate but difficult to judge because of the acidity. Have reserved it to make Coq au Vin. Needs substantial aging - perhaps for ever.
