2 people found it helpfulMar 22nd, 2014Popped and poured. This was a major departure from the Baudana enjoyed just before. The nose was more fruit forward with black currants in front of dried leaf tobacco, leather and cocoa notes. On the palate, this is pretty luxurious and round with luscious fruit. Very easy to drink and very well made. My only frustration is that it comes across as a wine that could sort have come from just about anywhere. But it’s undeniably good.

Oct 19th, 2019Thin, closed and very acidic. This is the second I have tried and this one may be slightly better than the first. Tannins are harsh on the palate but difficult to judge because of the acidity. Have reserved it to make Coq au Vin. Needs substantial aging - perhaps for ever.

Cherry red and fruit driven. Still feels quite young and tannic even after 7/8 years but opens up after some time in the glass. Really pleasing with a long finish.

Jan 5th, 2019Drinking in its prime right now. 60% cab sauv/40% merlot, from Bolgheri. Mature red and black fruit tones married to dried herbs and silky tannins. Clean on the finish. Terrific.
