Pink peppercorn, unexpectedly heavy for rose. Leaving expectations? Lovely with shrimp and duck salad. I’m happy I stocked up — 3 years ago

Tannin forward. Berry skin. Thin yet lingering. It needs to open. The age deceived me as well as the hue. I don’t know the price so my expectations were purely based on sensory cues. Almost a chalky after taste. Opening. I’m a full bodied preference palate. Round. Dry but not bone. Buttery not acidic. I’m sensing if this was white it would be a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc if that makes sense. Yes- it’s a tough work week and I’m rambling here. Pesto pizza from our towns premier pie house en route. Dog by the fire. All good. I’m getting a hint more ripening. Or I’m just loosening my shoulders. — 5 years ago

Once pie arrived and paired with pesto, sausage, eggplant slices- the wine came into its own as a perfect foil for the rich pie on crust

White peach, vanilla, river rock, strawberries that are just barely ripe. Subtly fresh porch wine. Or to reach for from a hammock. I’m planning on a dinner of charred buttered broccoli and seared salmon. Crusty bread. This will go nicely. Nice value wine for spring time. — 3 years ago

Lucious juicy ripe red cherry with peppery finish. A bit of leather. Almond. Style is jazz not Classical. Are those blackberries too? Content. What a fine find for Fall and Winter! Holiday guests enjoyed this with mushroom ravioli and cards with chocolates after. Ho and Merry New Year! — 3 years ago

Blackberry with black pepper. Light on the tannin. Lovely with slowly simmered brisket in bone broth. Winter without ice and wet wool. Accessible. Light enough to carry into a chilly spring day- bulbs pushing through snow. Quaffing. A work night wine. — 5 years ago

Leather. Blackberry skin. Black Pepper. Dark Cherry pit. Opening up nicely. It’s damp cold- marinara on/ garlic bread. Lovely quaffing. Jazz. Not managed- a jam. Speaking of which? Berries are asserting themselves — 4 years ago
