nose: strawberries and cream, rose perfume; taste: flowers, strawberries and raspberries, tickle on the tongue + a light tannin, strawberry vanilla swirl ice cream on the back
Overall: one of the best smelling wines I’ve ever had, light weight and fruity but still has tannin. Easy drinking probably a summer crowd pleaser. one critique: too light to stand against the food I had (ribs and potatoes), didn’t cut through the fat at all.

Much lighter than I usually enjoy but I would drink it again on a casual outing. Ping pongs between strawberry banana smoothie and strawberry pound cake with whipped cream. Dry and tart, light body and acidity. Would recommend to a white wine lover who is dabbling in reds. — 7 years ago

Smooth medium bodied, low tannin. Slightly tart with leather notes. Darker fruit flavors especially cherry and maybe raspberry? $6 at Trader Joe’s so cant beat it. Would pair with a bolognese — 7 years ago

One of the best wines I’ve had in awhile. Perfect to warm you up right before thanksgiving. Big jammy blackberry pie spice. Left my tongue black 😂 — 6 years ago

Sweeter white but not too sweet. Notes of melon, mango, and pear. doesn’t have the acidic bite that cheap whites usually have. Floral-ish nose. Paid $10 or less for this at local shop. An absolute steal and probably delicious in spring/summer — 6 years ago

My first Nero d’Avola! To me this is the Italian Zin; the bright acidity of Italian wines but that deeper richness of a Zinfandel. Beautiful dark purple color; blackberry and plum flavors. Leather and tobacco notes with a slight licorice finish. Even slighter lavender and rosemary at the end. — 7 years ago

So good! Eat with any red sauce! I think this may be my new go-to midweek wine. Tart and tasty red fruits. Also only $8 — 7 years ago

A good wine but not my style. I’ve learned I don’t enjoy wines that taste like they could be a pie filling and that is what this is. Blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, oaky, and sweet. It is objectively good and I would recommend to people who want to get into wine but not for me — 6 years ago

Fantastic for the price! Fruit forward low tannin a bit tart like many Portuguese reds. not complex but for $8 I expected that. Finished the bottle in two sittings. Got at plum market — 7 years ago

Definitely bought for the label, but ended up really enjoying the wine. Medium tannin, tobacco smoke and maybe slight coffee on the finish. Sour cherry and raspberry. Will be trying all other Poggio Anima bottles I can find. — 7 years ago
