Still had a nice racy energy about it. You could taste that it had mellowed, and you could see the beautiful color it had turned after all those years in the bottle. But it still had enough oomph going on to give it a really fascinating combo of elegance and energy.
Absolutely delicious. Really fun to taste against an aged Gewürztraminer. We were able to pair both wines with choucroute and see which pairing we preferred. In my case, I couldn't decide. They were both great pairings offering different nuances.
