I have a weakness for a nice Chianti (heh), and this one delivers. Ripe plum and bright cherries on the nose with a little that Chianti-esque iodine and leather. All of the above on the palate with some nice wet slate. Good acid, not as dry as I expected. Might not stand up to the grilled steaks, but enh — no regrets. — 6 years ago
Plush. Like licking velvet. Yes. — 7 years ago
Juicy and a little smoky. Cherries. Leather. Sexiness. Pretty much all the things I like in a port. — 7 years ago
Berries and leaf mould and bright sunshine. Silky with tannins content to hang out in the background like Gladys’ Pips. Perfect for this unseasonably warm spring evening in Texas. Excuse me while I go toss these steaks on the grill. — 6 years ago
Less aggressive than I was expecting, but still had some nice acid and the tobacco/berry/stone trifecta of yumminess. Tannins were pretty shy. Pretty a jewel-bright. — 7 years ago
Citrus and freshly-mowed grass and bright acid. Spritely for a humid stint in the kitchen. Well worth the price. — 7 years ago
Very soft mouthfeel after breathing for a bit since I used some to sauté some mushrooms. Not gonna lie, I picked it up initially because of the shiny, pretty label — but I was pleased. Not hugely assertive but some plum/berry notes and enough tannins to (if barely) stand up to the steaks. — 6 years ago
This is what you wanted your grandmother’s “going out” perfume to taste like when you snuck into her room and took a sip from the bottle on the mirrored tray. (It didn’t.) Floral and subtly spicy. A long-time favorite of mine. Excellent for spring. — 7 years ago
Lush little number, but with enough of a tannin backbone to stand up to a meaty meal. Plum and maybe even a little strawberry up front. A flirty bottle. — 7 years ago

Crisp but not pointy. A little boxwood-y funk, a little grapefruit. Great on Texas evening that’s just humid enough to warn of a sticky summer. — 6 years ago
