Some of my favorite whites come from Italy this one is no exception! Beautiful straw yellow color. The bouquet is white flowers and honeysuckle. Bright acidity mingles with apricots and lemon zest on your tongue, and the finish is slate-like minerality with just hint of ginger. — 9 years ago
Lately I've had a lot on my mind and needed to sit and think for a while to find clarity. So what better to do that with than one of my favorite Cabs? 100% pure Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Calistoga region, its color is a rich deep purple. Aromas of blackcurrant, smoke and french vanilla bean. Full bodied with well structured tannins. Flavors of black cherry and tomato wash over your palate melding to a tobacco and mint finish. What am I pondering? How to make this wine writing I so much into a career... — 10 years ago
Mmm...I love a good monastrell blend. Aromas of roasted meat, hard cheeses, and cherry compote with firm tannin, showing flavors of raisin, fig, and red currant. I truly enjoyed this one and would have rated it a bit higher had it not been quite so hot on the back end. The 14.5% alcohol leaves a bit of a burn that somewhat masks the chocolate and espresso finish. Other than that though it was delicious and an absolute re-buy! — 9 years ago
Now that I've finished basking in its afterglow I think I'll jot down a few notes...
90% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo, 3% Colorino. It opens to red fruits, rich chocolate, and charcoal. Surprisingly soft tannins gently welcome me into flavors of dark cherry, under- ripe plum, and anise. As it leaves with a swift kiss of mineral and thyme, I'm left longing for a bit more. — 10 years ago
This interesting Portuguese blend is 60% Touriga Nacional, 38% Syrah, and 2% Viognier. It sees no oak to bring out the fruit. Deep purple color. Nose of freshly turned earth, wet leaves, and grilled meat. Soft tannins greet dense fruit flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry jam. Ending with smoke and mint. — 9 years ago

Unbelievable, a box wine I truly enjoyed! Floral nose with just the right amount of tart strawberry and citrus on the palate. Followed by a mouth-cleansing lemon rind and mineral finish. Paired with holiday ham and cheesy potatoes. At 16.97 this is outstanding QPR! — 9 years ago
