Met the "Blue Eyed Boy" at a Colleyville TX tasting and ended up hosting him at the house. Gave it the shake and The Boxer opens with loads of fruit, blueberry, leather, cassis. Big tannins but they won't bite you. Love the spicy finish. Very drinkable now and a in a few years. G'Day Luke. — 4 months ago
I've had a lot of Walt Pinot's and this one was not my favorite. Still some brightness with red cherry, baking spices and floral tea's but the mid palate left me looking for more. A decent lingering finish but the alcohol dominates. Could have been an off bottle. — 5 months ago
Dark garnet in the glass. Opens with berries galore. Blackberries, plum, cedar and black licorice. I waited a bit on this and the tannins have softened. Glad I did. Has nice balance and a nice earthiness to it. — 2 months ago
Medium to full bodied Pinot from Sta. Rita Hills. Medium weight in the glass with notes of red berries, cinnamon, damp earth and spice. Decent length in the finish. This could use another 2-3 yrs and really shine. — 4 months ago
Uber good value Malbec. Opens with red berries and sweet plum. Black tea and spice mid palate and a long tannic finish with a bit of oak. Consider this for a pot luck. Worth the price — 5 months ago
Bright cherry color in the glass. Notes of red berries, cherry and black tea. Floral throughout and brings a soft tannin finish. Undeniably a Pinot. — 5 months ago
I was looking for a crowd pleaser for a bunch of people on Christmas Eve. Citrus notes with green apple and butterscotch. I prefer a little more oak, but it's drinkable at the price point. — 3 months ago
Rarely do I go over the top on ratings but this is very deserving. Just extraordinary in its complexity, balance and profile. Dark and inky in the glass, loads of red and black fruits, cedar and a hint of chocolate. The finish just lingers and the tannins have softened. I'd say this was well worth the wait. — 4 months ago
Definitely needed a few hours to open this young Zin. Bright red fruits and spice box opening. The spice lingers and presents some mild acidity. Lengthy blue and red fruit finish. I'd wait 5 yrs on this. — 5 months ago
