Petrol? Isn't that similar to gasoline? I certainly wouldn't want to drink gasoline. Ew! No thanks!
The petrolium touch in the nose is quite typical for Riesling. Espacillay for aged ones. It comes from TDN, a reaction from lot's of sunlight with the skins of the Berry. - it's the same with brettanomyces in bdx wines. Some like it, some People don't.
I prefer diesel fuel.
