Truly noteworthy wine drinking wonderfully now and will only get better with some time. Living in Bordeaux and all over Europe allowed namesake and winemaker Keith Webster a personal look at the world's best wines. Settling in Napa he's now crafting ultra-luxury micro productions of wines he was inspired by, like this one called Right Bank. At 13.9% alcohol it resembles a right bank in more than name. Delicious, "farmer's market fresh" dark red fruits, shimmering garnet/ruby color with soft notes of spice, vanilla, cinnamon and lavender. Pure, clean and fresh mouth feel, good acid, tight, neutral tannins. 100cs production, best of luck finding. Delicious! — 7 years ago
I was first introduced to Keenan in the early 90's and the vehicle was their Merlot. Age has just made the wine and essentially all the wines from them truly spectacular. No fancy chateau, you taste in a glorified yet comfy barn, by appointment only mid way up Spring Mountain. The wines speak of place, as they should and this Merlot is front and center. Deep garnet in color, soft, mild notes of violets on the nose carry into a smooth, silly mouth feel with well integrated tannins and long finish. Medium intensity, subdued elegance and wonderfully balanced. — 8 years ago
NOT Pinot Noir. I love finding small production wines, I mean really small, where they aren't on the app. This is a 45 case SB from the Russian River Valley which was the hit of a recent Cellar Angels private event. Might have been the scarcity, but my money is on the hint of Viognier in this offering from Kim and David Vance. Gorgeous tropical fruits, Kiwi, ripe peach and acidity. The luciousness and acidity balance is so refreshing it could become your defacto SB and go to white wine. Amazing find. — 7 years ago
Then another industry friend showed up, this time a Rioja specialist, and this we had with smoked pulled pork. Wow!! — 7 years ago
Love having industry friends over when they bring rosé. — 7 years ago
Depth and seduction! Powerful, forceful and pure, it really delivers. Damp earth, dark plum, blackberry, cedar, cigar box and a bright red raspberry provides a harmonic journey of sensory delight. Nothing herbal or vegetable on this '11, solid through and through.
Another Cellar Angels' offer for yes, I founded the company but am also a customer. What a find! — 8 years ago
One row to the right, Ramey. One row to the left, Kistler. A spectacular offering of lemon meringue, balanced acid, small amount of oak provides luscious vanilla hints. Cellar Angels features and easily half the price of the other two mentioned and with a wax seal. Stunning! — 7 years ago
When Kent Rassmussen crafts a Pinot Noir, especially one from a vineyard block that was the first ever vineyard planted to Pinot Noir in Napa AND one in which he's been the winemaker since the '80's, I listen. This wine is courtesy of Cellar Angels and the fresh cherry, strawberry, raspberry, without the candied fruit synonymous with Caneros was sensational. Awesome price and wine. — 7 years ago
Valentine's Day starter, the always solid BrutX from Iron Horse. Enough said. — 8 years ago
