This wine immediately hits you with barnyard and leather on the nose, followed by tart red fruit, plum, pepper, and herbs on the palate. Highly-pronounced minerality, like all of the other wines I've had by Domaine des Ardoisières. Lighter-bodied than Gamay from Beaujolais, but no less worthy of praise. Simultaneously easy-drinking and complex. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
Red cherry, herbs, and olive brininess with chalky minerality. Well-integrated but firm tannins and fresh acidity. A graceful wine with a bit of a wild side, too. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
Lots of VA on the nose. Bold and intense with notes of dark cherry, herbs, and oak. Strong tannins smooth out pretty quickly. A streak of acidity makes for a well-balanced and nicely-structured wine. Purchased at Popina in Brooklyn, NY. — 4 years ago
Notes of green apple, lime zest, white florals, and honey. Medium-bodied with a silky texture, well balanced with crisp and refreshing, almost salty minerality. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
Cranberry, ripe red cherry, wet forest floor, and a hint of cinnamon. Silky and elegant with medium body and lively acidity. Another beautiful wine from Oregon. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
Dark red and blue fruit, peppery spice, and herbal notes with wet stone minerality. Mellow tannins and fresh acidity make this the perfect candidate for a chill. Delicious with BBQ chicken pizza for dinner. Purchased at Popina in Brooklyn, NY. — 4 years ago
Bordeaux-esque blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault from Lebanon. Notes of black cherry, leather, oak, and spice. Bold, tannic, and full-bodied. A nice recommendation from the crew at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
Quite fond of Marco De Bartoli's entry-level Grillo, but this was a definite step up. Highly aromatic with white flowers, lemon, and rocks on the nose. Peach and nutty notes emerge on the palate along with salty minerality. Well-structured and nicely balanced with M+ body and M/M+ acidity. I feel like I say this a lot, but this wine definitely had some Burgundian character. Purchased at Popina in Brooklyn, NY. — 4 years ago
Notes of lemon, ripe green apple, and vanilla, with perhaps some caramel or butterscotch on the finish as well. Creamy and luxurious, but well-balanced with refreshing minerality and a nice backbone of acidity. An absolutely gorgeous wine. Really enjoying Oregonian Chardonnay as a more affordable alternative to high-quality white Burgundy. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago

Light in color and body with notes of overripe red cherry, dark fruit, herbs, and dead leaves. Mellow tannins and M/M- acidity. A versatile wine for pairing with food or drinking on its own. Served with a slight chill. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY. — 4 years ago
