Domaine des Ardoisières
IGP Vin des Allobroges Cuvee Argile Rouge Gamay
This wine immediately hits you with barnyard and leather on the nose, followed by tart red fruit, plum, pepper, and herbs on the palate. Highly-pronounced minerality, like all of the other wines I've had by Domaine des Ardoisières. Lighter-bodied than Gamay from Beaujolais, but no less worthy of praise. Simultaneously easy-drinking and complex. Purchased at Suburban Wines in Yorktown Heights, NY.
