Call this one the pleasant surprise of the year! Wow! Doing some research I see that this DOC, Bierza is near the NE corner of Portugal. Think super earthy merlot. Supple and smooth body with beautiful earthy mushroomy bret type nuance. 100% Mencia grape. I never knew, now I do! — 7 years ago

Really nice! I do not find this as light bodied as some reviewers. A really well balanced wine that has the classic zin elements. Very happy to drink this. — 5 years ago
Smooth, subtle at first, powerful in a balanced way thereafter. A gently complex silky beautiful Krug. — 6 years ago
Round, luscious, mouth coating, rich but balanced. Perfectly oaked. Luxurious! — 8 years ago

Wow! I don’t understand the low average rating of this! I had the 2014 tonight and it was simply a fantastic, classic Zinfandel. So well balanced. Highly recommend! — 6 years ago
I absolutely love most wines I’ve ever had from Walla Walla. Great value. — 7 years ago
Wow! Well I couldn’t have had a more different experience than the one review I’ve read about this powerful, elegant cab. The thing is that this wine is still young. I decanted it through an aerator and let it sit while making steak and chanterelles. The wine is amazing and still growing. I should probably have let her rest longer... sometimes you just can’t wait. — 7 years ago

Whoa. Why am I the first one to see that these comments describe a top end Burgundy style Pinot Noir. This Pinot is so good, it clearly surprises those that are drinking it and expecting a light and subtle style. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not “heavy” (brother), but it does have heft, though. Beautiful depth and balance! A Burgundy that will last and last. — 4 years ago
