At champagne bar in Gothenburg, this Jacquesson beat the Vouet & Sorbee by a mile; not surprisingly I guess. Base year is 2011, all three main grapes but mostly chardonnay; fermented and aged in foudres; unfiltered bottled, and disgorged in 2014. Rich, waxy, honey, stone fruit, minerals and a supple finish.

I find the 739 to be somewhat atypical for Jacquesson which now has me wondering if the 2011 base was difficult to work with? The posted dosage certainly places it firmly into the Extra Brut category but it nearly comes across as Demi-Sec. perhaps there was much more residual sugar or they calculated their dosage incorrectly? Still a good wine, just not what I expected and prefer a drier Champagne.

(16.5/20) Сложный, элегантный аромат свежих яблок, желтых слив, персиков и абрикосов, сдобной булки с лёгкой цветочной нотой. Во вкусе несколько проще, чем в аромате, но в целом, структура хорошо сбалансирована. Весьма достойно.
