Understand this is supposed to be one of the finest Syrahs of the Northern Rhone, and while it was smooth, I was left with too much of that bubble gummy, carbonic maceration taste on the palate. — 8 years ago
Cheese rind on the nose. Refreshing, acidic, with excellent earthy notes. — 9 years ago
Big, beautiful fruit forward Merlot blend that showcased some of the best terroir and winemaking talent Santa Barbara has to offer oenophiles. Notes of sumptuous blackberry and cassis in full effect. — 2 years ago
A restrained creamy butteriness that was complemented by a crisp minerality made this wine an excellent accompaniment to a delicious tasting menu at Glenmere Mansion in upstate New York. This particular Mersault had both the substance and flexibility to accompany a variety of eclectic dishes. — 8 years ago

Overly tannic for a Pinot Noir. Very tight to begin but opened up and showed some improvement over the course of the meal. Possibly this wine needs more time in the cellar. — 9 years ago
First time with a Montagny. Our bottle aged excellently and left us with a great finish. — 9 years ago

Firm, dark wine with a supple intensity. Woody and earthy were the first impressions on the nose. Dark fruits such as blackberry and fig come out mid-palate. Tannins still have power in this 2008 vintage. Felt some fruit come out after we aerated the wine for about an hour. — 2 years ago
