Almost aggressively angular and lean at first pour. Red berries and a touch of cream. Pinch of sweet spice. After a few minutes of time/air acid structure holds firm but tannins seem softer and body fleshes out. Overall kind of simple but with old world finesse. — 7 years ago
Drank with latkes. Getting lit for the Festival of Lights!
More mineral than fruity. Watermelon rind, ozone, wet cement. Hint of red berries. A little bitter on finish but perfect with some salty fried potatoes. Happy Hanukkah! — 6 years ago
Carbonic fruity character, a bit of ethyl acetate, but it comes across as a fruity lift more than acetone. Soft, light tannins. Very quaffable. — 7 years ago

Flirty reduction, citrus. Killer acidity. Fresh to death. — 7 years ago
Leaner than I remember previous vintages. Strong acid backbone, red fruit and medium light tannins to flesh it out a bit. I’d be curious to see how this holds up with another few years on it. — 7 years ago

Despite being stored in worrisome conditions with the recent summer heat, 2013 proved to be a trooper. Some sweet aromas of age and oxidation were outshined by big ripe red and black fruit. Hints of pepper and iron. Big body and silky to velvet texture. Took a meal of grilled lamb and green beans with mushrooms to the next level. Wish I had another. Thanks Steve and team! — 4 years ago
