Tough to chose between this and the Monts Damnes. Nice combination of ripeness and structure, along with some secondary development of aromas and flavors - pear, almond and chalk; great purity and acidity; complex and long finish. — 9 years ago
This is not the blockbuster of the 2007, but it will reach maturity sooner and is already drinking well. Expressive nose of raspberries, red currants and complex soil tones. I would give it just a few more years in the cellar to let the tannins fully integrate. — 9 years ago
Drinking very well today, with the complexity of bottle age still matched by some vibrant freshness – grapefruit, citrus zest, and waxy yellow fruit; bright, snappy acids; years of life still ahead of it. — 9 years ago
Really beginning to blossom and drink beautifully - impressive and suave, with great mid-palate depth; should have many years of drinking ahead of it. — 9 years ago
Very classic and deep. Complex aromas, great mid-palate depth and ripe, well-integrated tannins. Cherries, smoke, and freshly ground pepper; full-bodied and pure. Despite the obvious ripeness, there is absolutely no sign of heat on the finish; very well balanced. — 9 years ago
Youthful aromas of black cherries and tar; deep and quite classically structured, with well-integrated tannins. I would give this another four or five years of cellaring before trying again. — 9 years ago
Deep and pure aromas of licorice, dried roses and fresh herbs; impeccably balanced, with a nice core of fruit and firm tannins – continues to open up with time in the decanter. — 9 years ago
Paul Jones
A big and structured wine. Aromas of cherries, roasted coffee and fresh herbs. Broad-shouldered and chewy, with good mid-palate depth and firm tannins - plenty of length and grip on the finish. The wine seems nicely balanced, and should age very well. — 9 years ago
