From the Flip Side of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Ruby color. Oak and vanilla on the nose. Tastes sweet with ripe fruits. I get the flavor of Raisins and prunes and the oak really comes out in its decent longish finish. Medium body. Low tannin and acidity. At first the “Bordeaux style cabernet”, as they referred to it in description, is nice and apparent but the more it opens it is not so much. It’s Good. But a little sweet for me. Went well with strip steak and asparagus and mozzarella and tomatoes. — 7 years ago

Incredibly smooth and very silky and soft. Nice dark purple color. Low in acidity. Low to medium tannin. A little grip comes a little later in the long finish. On the tongue there is a pleasant amount of ripened plums. It is Syrup-like once it enters. Flavors of juicy prunes are strong with a hint of cigar and tobacco and some fig. Really enjoyed this wine. Went well with famous home made meatballs and spaghetti squash. — 6 years ago

Pernand-Vergelesses Pinot Noir 2009
On the nose- floral scents, fresh strawberries, herbs, earth, wet grass. Needs time to open about 30-45 minutes. Then tastes well balanced. On the tongue is more herbs and earth. Not very fruity. It’s elegant and delicate. Wait for it (about an hour) and the wine becomes silky and slightly more fruit will appear with pleasant/medium tannin. I really enjoyed it with home made pizza - red sauce, mozzarella and ricotta cheese with garlic and herb crust that was hand stretched to perfection ;). Oh and amazing home made meatballs. A perfect pairing. I recommend putting your phone down for this meal. It’s worth it! — 7 years ago

2006 vintage drinking in 2019- color is brownish / burnt umber mixed with burgundy (no pun) Earthy on the nose. Wet soil and mint. You must wait at least a half an hour to taste- On the tongue fresh fruit some red/dark cherries and ripened peaches. The finish is nice and long and tannins are very pleasant not overwhelmingly grippy. Really nice Pinot Noir. Wait! What?? This is is not a french pinot?!!! :P — 6 years ago
