One of the best madirans I've ever had because The blend is perfect.. the Sauvignon gives a solid spine to this tannat based wine, and that dollop of cab franc gives a gamey green note which would make it a magical match for a nice duck confit or even a lamb dish.. (braised leg perhaps ) needs another year or an hour in a decanter ....or both!!. — 8 years ago

Holy crap.. I love this. It's rare to find an unoaked red with this much concentration of flavours. Superb balance of weight and acidity make this a great pair for tapas or lighter cheese and charcouterie. Really easy on the wallet on top of everything.. 17.5 out of 20 — 8 years ago

Meh.. It's Merlot that's not from bordeaux what else can I say. I really don't get the 93 score from wine enthusiasts.. Pretty generic.. — 9 years ago

This wine is all about the nose! Powerful blackberry notes are nuances by faint scents of cinnamon or nutmeg. Moderate tannins allow for a very drinkable yet mouth filling wine. This is as opulent as any similarity priced Aussie Shiraz but that 30 percent Grenache and that old world sun give this wine and slightly more palatable weight and sufficient acidity for even a braised meat... such as a braised beef shank...which is braising in my oven as we speak . Lil young but that's how I like em..( that didn't sound right did it?) Enjoy! — 9 years ago
