"A joint venture between Eric Solomon and proprietor Nuria Altes, this is an unreal value made from 100% Grenache from vines planted nearly 100 years ago. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a flowery perfume revealing aromas of forest floor, underbrush, sweet black cherries, raspberries and strawberries. Medium-bodied, ethereal as well as sublime, this finesse-styled Grenache possesses a delicacy that is difficult to believe for such intensity. Consume it over the next 3-4 years." The carefully selected hand picked grapes from the two Walla Walla Vineyards were gently de-stemmed and crushed. The grapes were then fermented in small ½ ton open topped fermentation bins at an average must temperature of 89 °F for 10 days. Multiple yeasts were used at fermentation for added wine complexity. The grape must cap was punched down by hand several times a day. At dryness, the grape must was lightly pressed into a settling tank for sediment settling. Next the wine was put directly into oak barrels where malolatic fermentation was completed. The wine received a total of 4 rackings during the nineteen months of barrel aging and was not filtered prior to bottling. — 11 years ago

Aromatically, this wine reminds us of ancient vine Zinfandel from Amador. Rich, dark aromas deliver wonderful, dark fruit, spice and minerals. On the palate, the wine is complex, plush and full of character. — 11 years ago
Ripe fruit carries through on the palate followed by hints of smoke and other savory delights. The wine is held together by smooth, fine tannins that carry it to a well-balanced and smooth finish. — 11 years ago
The color is a see-thru cherry red. The nose is maraschino cherries, a light floral edge, a hit of spice and fresh strawberry. This is a slightly sweet wine, not sugar sweet, but nectar sweet. It starts with ripe black cherry, raspberry, licorice and cranberry. It transitions in the mid palate to a soft splash of pepper, along with blueberry. The tannins are soft and the acidity is light. The finish is fairly full and lengthy. — 11 years ago
