Terrific but too young, loved it anyway. Really acidic, not so much tannic but needs time to mature for full potential. Today, still very nice, full bodied, lots of flavor, hard not to like but flavors are a bit difficult to tease out, I don’t get Pruno but dark fruit. It’s tangy, good with food. — 5 years ago

A bit rustic but in a good way, lots of flavor and terroir. Not light and esoteric like some higher priced Provençal rose’. Quaffable but still interesting. — 5 years ago
Dark chocolate and coffee dominates this still young 2006 powerhouse. Bouquet is rich and immediate. Mouthfeel/flavor profile is acidic but balanced, tannins relaxed and round, as the acidic foundation gives it great food pairing potential. Very deep dark fruit give it back of the mouth appeal. With air the lighter tones emerge. Where has this wine been all my life? — 5 years ago

Appropriate name for this dense, concentrated blend, chocolate and dark fruit and a backbone of tannic bite, and a looong finish. Very special. — 6 years ago

2013 vintage, their comeback year and truly marvelous. Probably too soon. Tight tannins, takes a lot of time to open, but a wonderful bouquet right from the opening so go figure. In most ways a textbook montepulciano, in a good way. Fruit at the front gives way to more complexity. Color is fading from ruby to a more mature wine. Still, needs more time. If you have a 2013 in a good place, be more patient. Drink maybe 2023? Could go longer — 4 years ago
