Solid stuff. White peach, golden delicious apple, apple blossom, balanced on the pallet with nice acidity. Huge fan of this producer. — 7 years ago
Been awhile since I opened one of Russell's wines. It has come out swinging in all its full throttle, teeth staining, mouth coating glory. Black berry, cherry kirsch, charred meat, leather, spice. Layers upon layers upon layers with the structure and acidity to go the distance. — 8 years ago
Black olive, raspberry jam and beef blood. Funky and delicious. The more it breathes, the better it gets. Drink after 2-3 hour decant. — 7 years ago

Loads of black cherry and raspberry that hide some mentholated herbs. Lively on the palette with pleasing tannins. I drink them young because I lack willpower. — 7 years ago

A mash up of sweet black berry and savory black olive on the nose. On the palette there is a core of sweet fruit surrounded by a bit of iron. Pleasant tannin and acidity. Really enjoying this one. — 7 years ago
In a really good place right now. Blackberry and black cherry give way to mushroom, herbs and forest floor. Tannins are silky and integrated. Full and round on the palette. There are times when I think I'm buying too much wine and consider leaving Russel's list. Then I open a bottle like this and see that I could never do that. — 7 years ago

When popped the nose was red cherry, cola and cherry compote. After a couple hours of air the wine has evolved into black cherry with some secondary herbal notes. This is drinking incredibly well now. Don’t hold for long. — 7 years ago
